Many families in Lappis are not aware of a well organized and well tested premise offered by LOM: the family local. A serene and playful space, where children meet and play all the year long, together with their parents and a teacher. A cozy environment that is also available for the activities that Lappis tenants invent and organize.

The family local is an apartment-sized place, finely furnished and fully equipped. It includes a smalll kitchen, good sofas and lots of toys. It is located in Amanuensvägen 5, right beside the kindergarden. Completely free of charge, this structure is open on Monday afternoons (13.30-16.00) and Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday mornings (9.30-13.00), and it is intended for children between one month and five years of age. A trained teacher, Gill, is always there to play, sing and interact with them. As an opportunity for young parents, she regularly runs courses for infant massage. She has worked for more than ten years in this premise, and her warm and safe presence will help all children to interact with others. The family local is not a pre-school, though: the presence of one of the parents is always required.

Outside the activity schedule, the local is always at disposal of the Lappis folk. It be used as a bigger livingroom to host group activities: it is perfect for children birthdays, but also dinners, parties, celebration, indoor markets, courses and trainings. The local holds up to 30 people, so invite who you wish. There are tables, chairs and tableware for all. The price is 40 SEK per day; in addition to that, 200 SEK will be asked as a temporary deposit for the key. The rules are simple: 1. no noises after 22 pm; 2. no commercial activities are allowed; 3. clean afterwards and leave the local in order. You just have to pick the key directly from the responsible of the family section, and return it when you are done.
